Wash Your Home Quickly With These Pressure Washing Tips

The great thing about a pressure washer is that it allows for floors and buildings to be washed much more quickly. However, if you are short on time, simply using a pressure washer alone is not good enough. What is also important is how the pressure washer is used.

Use The Right Nozzle

For the pressure washer to be effective, you must use the right nozzle. The type of nozzle used affects how powerful the pressure washer is. If you will be applying a detergent, it would make sense to use a nozzle that does not exert as much force. However, if you will be trying to dislodge debris, it would make sense to use a nozzle that exerts more force. It may be best to use one nozzle to spray detergent and to use another nozzle when you need more force.

Remember that pressure washers are very powerful, and it is possible to cause damage to your property if you use a level of pressure that is not appropriate for the surface you are cleaning. For example, it is possible to tear strips off of hardwood decking with too much pressure.

Use Hot Water And Soap

Hot water and soap is more effective for removing debris from a surface than cold water is. The hot water generates more energy that can effectively push dirt off of a surface. Also, the soap can allow the dirt and debris to stick to it, making it easier to wash the dirt and debris away. For this reason, it is better to purchase a pressure washer that is heated. Even if you do not have a heated pressure washer, it is better to use detergent than to attempt to clean a surface using water alone. If you do not use detergent, you may be tempted to use more pressure, and this can increase the risk that the pressure washer will cause damage to your property.

Wash In The Right Order

Make sure to clean your property in the right order. For example, you should save window cleaning for last. If you clean your windows before pressure washing, the dirt and grime will splash on your windows and you will be forced to clean them again.

Use Gas-Powered Pressure Washers

Electric pressure washers are not as powerful as gas pressure washers. If you do find that you are simply not getting enough power, you may want to occasionally rent a gas pressure washer to take care of more stubborn spots.
